Active Investor Plus Visa
The active investor plus visa is intended to allow serious and experienced investors the opportunity to obtain permanent residency in New Zealand. After either 3 or 5 years of continued investment, visa holders may apply for permanent residency. Obtaining this visa depends on showing the ability to make a minimum $5 million NZD investment in New Zealand. The investments may either be in the growth category or balanced category. The visa enables you to travel in and out of New Zealand indefinitely, and apply for permanent residency after 3 years under the growth category, and 5 years under the balanced category.
Growth Category investments must be maintained in New Zealand for at least 3 years, and may be made in:
- Managed funds, or:
- Direct investments.
The investments must total at least $5 million NZD.
Balanced category investments must be maintained for at least 5 years, and may be made in:
- Listed equities;
- Philanthropy;
- Managed funds;
- Direct Investments;
- Bonds, or;
- Property developments.
The investments must total at least $10 million NZD.
This visa lets you:
- Live, work and study in New Zealand
- Include your partner and dependent children, aged 24 and younger, in your application
- Apply for permanent residence after 3 years of keeping your funds in New Zealand if you invest under the Growth Category, or after 5 years if you invest under the Balanced category.
